Soundwave

An intensive week-long course for young songwriters

Are you a young songwriter looking to take your skills to the next level?

Join music producer and composer Liam Russell of Stomping Ground Creative for a FREE, week-long intensive where you’ll develop all the skills you need to take a song from idea to reality.

You’ll cover the whole songwriting process – generating and building on song ideas, creating lyrics, recording, editing and adding instrumentation, samples and effects.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a high quality recording to share with the world – as well as all tips and tricks you need to be a independent musician who can make and record music from anywhere.

Is this course for me?

Soundwave is for you if:

  • You play, sing or write music
  • You are aged 16 to 25
  • You’re interested in a career in music but aren’t sure where to start
  • You want to make music your own way
  • You want to level up your skills so your work sounds professional and stands out from the crowd
  • You have lots of ideas but struggle to get them off the page
  • You want to be able to record from anywhere, without having to invest in studio time

Soundwave is happening at the Studio Theatre in Moffat. You need to be available for all the dates to take part. Get in touch for information on public transport.

Soundwave is made possible thanks to the generous support of The Wood Foundation’s Youth and Philanthropy Initiative. We would also like to extend a massive thank you to Ruby, Freja, Hannah and Laura from Annan Academy who worked so hard to secure this funding.
